WHO India Country Office approached the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Jaipur to design and conduct WHO In-Country Fellowship on Monitoring and Evaluation of Health Programmes and WHO In-Country Fellowship on Research Methods and Data Analysis Management of 2-weeks durations. IIHMR Jaipur – a WHO collaborating centre for district health system based on primary health care – agreed to design and conduct the fellowship program. The program enabled the participants to discuss current and future challenges in a setting that provides a rare and unique opportunity to interact with subject experts. The major objective of the programme was to understand overall knowledge on steps of research methods and evaluation, skill to develop terms of referance for conducting a health program evaluation and releated research, clear understanding on monitoring system and supervision, data management framework, skills to use data planning and decesion making and brad understanding of monitoring and validation. The fellowship was coordinated by Dr. Suresh Joshi.
