  • Background : Not Available
  • Methodology : The study has taken east zone by purposive sampling due to the highest load of slum population here. All   the   40   providers   present   at   the   session   were interviewed for filling up the checklist based on the Mamta Abhiyan guidelines and observation to assess the condition at  these  canters.  The  sessions  were  assessed  under  six major heads the general facility readiness comprising of condition and location of service delivery point, infection prevention  practices  followed  and  availability  of equipments and supplies, service quality assessment, maternal health quality assessment and child/immunization service delivery assessment. The study covered one Mamta day in each UHC.
  • Findings : The assessment study done has revealed many factors posing hindrances for the quality services at Mamta days. One Mamta day from each centre was visited and it was found that the focus in these sessions is vaccination. The maternal services are suffering due to multiple reasons starting from non availability of proper infrastructure to the lack of providerís knowledge. Centres like Bapunagar, Nikol, Vastral shows a very low scoring of general facility readiness. In most of the sessions drop out cases are not being traced. The study proposes the formation of quality team for regular assessment and monitoring of these sessions. One of the problems identified was the improper linkage with the NGOs running the AWC.
  • Recommendations : It is proposed that a regular review meeting will be performed so that the quality of services can be assessed. The whole site on site trainings may be given to the providers.
