  • Objective : This report examines cost effectiveness of medical tourism. A case study of Malaysia has been taken, various factors that contribute in medical tourism along with cost comparison of medical treatments in Malaysia, India and various other counties. Medical tourism can be beneficial model for various stakeholders like international hospitals, TPAs, Tour and Travels companies, Insurance companies, Tourist department, Transportation, Food beverages, Hotels and bars.
  • Background : Malaysia has originated as one of the most important hubs for medical tourism. Due to the high cost of medical care at home, western patients are increasingly going to developing countries for medical care. Healthcare tourism in India is definitely on the cards for most of the foreign  patients  and  the  fast  growing  Indian  corporate health sector is fully geared to meet that need. Estimates of the value of medical tourism to India go as high as $2 billion a year by 2012.
  • Methodology : Secondary data Case Study,  Qualitative and   Quantitative   data,   annual   reports   of   travel   and Tourism, Internal reports was carried for the study.
  • Findings : This report shows Health,Travel and Tourism contribution in GDP's of various countries   which is expected to increase in future.   The report presented a model of service structure of medical tourism. The model prepared for the medical tourism can be an analyzed and pilot  study  can  be  done  to  observe  the  profits.  This research will focus on the scope of medical tourism in India, the various factors major issues in which the international patients can face a difficulty.
