Logistics Management of Vaccines with a Special Focus on Strengthening the Cold Chain
February 24 - 28, 2025
Programme Coordinator: Dr. Saurabh Kumar Banerjee

Background

A well-managed supply chain of vaccines is the most fundamental step for ensuring the safety of the vaccines. As the complexity of the vaccination programme is increasing day by day, healthcare professionals should be able to provide solutions to the managerial and operational challenges in the supply chain management of vaccines, namely vaccine handling, stock management, minimizing vaccine wastages, handling emergency situations, storage, and distribution, etc.
Cold chain management is the most crucial and inherent component of the supply chain, which determines the potency, safety, and efficacy of the vaccines and should be properly addressed at each delivery point of the supply chain of vaccines.
A well-executed vaccine management program addressing the intricacies of the cold chain is the need of the hour to resolve the bottlenecks and build public trust in the country's health system.
The programme will provide the participants with the tools and techniques for effectively managing the supply chain of vaccines, with an added focus on cold chain management, thus ensuring the safety of the vaccines. They will be exposed to real situations to help them find practical solutions and implement them in their own settings
