Q1. Who are eligible for admission to this programme?
- Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
- Those with a valid score of MAT/CAT/CMAT/ATMA/XAT/GMAT
- Professionals with relevant work experience in the healthcare sector are encouraged to apply.
Q2.Is my admission guaranteed if I fulfill the above criteria?
No. A selected number of eligible applicants are called for group discussion and interview on the basis of their graduation percentage and MAT/CAT/CMAT/ATMA/XAT/GMAT score. The final selection is done strictly on merit and is based on marks obtained in qualifying examination, aptitude test score and experience, performance in GD and interview.
Q3.What do I need to do to apply for this programme?
You may apply online or download the application form from our website: www.iihmr.edu.in. Duly completed application forms may be sent by post along with a demand draft of Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour of “Institute of Health Management Research”, payable at Jaipur along with all the documents in support of eligibility.
Q4.What kind of preparation do I need to make for the interview / group discussion?
No special preparation is required. Your communication skills, knowledge of subject and general awareness about what is happening around you will be important.
Q5.Will there be any problem in coping with the studies or getting a job if I am not a science or medical graduate?
No. The studies are oriented towards management and not towards medical science. Our alumni from diverse academic backgrounds are doing well in their careers
Q6.What kind of job can I expect after graduating from this programme?
You can be recruited at a junior management level in private (corporate and non-corporate) hospitals, government & non-government organizations, pharmaceutical industries and other related organizations

Q8.Do you have a Placement Cell? What will the placement cell do for my final job placement?
No organization can guarantee placement but, yes, there is a placement cell with student members and a faculty coordinator. The cell organizes campus interviews and regularly updates the job opportunities. In the past almost all students have been placed as a result of campus interviews organized by the cell.
Q9.How much will the course cost after admission?
The total course fee is Rs. 7,10,000. In addition, hostel accommodation costs Rs. 50,000 - 66,000 per year (excluding meals). These rates are, however, subject to revision. For details, contact our Academic Office at Jaipur.
Q10.If I discontinue the course in the middle or do not join the course, will my deposited tuition fee be refunded?
In case, a student/candidate withdraws from the course, the fee will be refunded as per The University norms. If a candidate leaves after commencement of the course, he/she will not be entitled for fee refund except caution money.
Q11.What about scholarships / loans / financial assistance?
Bank loans are available. Candidates sponsored by their employers are encouraged to apply. Need-cum merit scholarship based on first year marks is provided.
Q12.Is it a degree or diploma?
It is a postgraduate degree (MBA).
Q13.Do I have to make a choice for different streams of the course. if yes, then at what stage?
The Streams available to students are as follows
Human Resource Management
Procurement & Supply Chain Management
Health Economics, Finance and Insurance
The stream is allotted before the summer training on the basis of merit in the first year, aptitude and individual preference.
Q14.How are these streams different in structure and which one has more job prospects?
First year is common to all the streams, which aims at cultivating multidisciplinary skills of management principles, communication and health systems. Hospital management is about application of concepts and tools in an institution-based (or hospital-based) health care system, which primarily caters to the curative need of the population. Health management provides you with managerial skills primarily for community-based health care system where preventive, promotive, and curative needs of population are addressed. The industry is looking for trained skilled professionals in health care. The above streams are structured to integrate knowledge and skills based on industry requirements.
Q15.In your advertisement you have mentioned collaboration with various international organizations (such as WHO and Johns Hopkins University). What does it imply in terms of my job prospects?
IIHMR is a WHO collaborating centre and has technical collaborative links with the Johns Hopkins University and a few other universities. Although these collaborations have an impact on the prestige of our university, they have no direct implications on the prospects of getting jobs at these organizations.
