About Library
Dr. D.A. Henderson Library and Documentation Centre
Library was dedicated to Dr. D. A. Henderson on May 31, 1996. Dr. Henderson is known for his outstanding contribution towards the eradication of smallpox.
The University’s Library is housed in a centrally located main University building in 3 floors (Basement, Ground floor and First floor). Spacious reading halls and latest IT infrastructure provide the right ambiance for reading and research in the Library. The library is developing a comprehensive collection of print, digital and media resources on Public Health, Health Systems, Health & Hospital, Pharmaceutical Management, and Development Studies, to fulfill the teaching and research needs of the four schools of the university.
The objective of the library is to provide appropriate and adequate material in minimum amount of time enabling them to achieve excellence in research, teaching, learning, and community services.
It is to be noted, that this is the first automated library in the state. It is divided into three functional units viz., Technical Unit, Documentation Unit and Information Unit. The records are maintaining through KOHA (version: 22.11.03). The library has Wi-Fi facility, circulation, web OPAC, and a digital repository available through Greenstone software for the users. The IIHMR University Library also provides RemoteXs facility to current students and faculty.
Publication
IIHMR University brings out a publication entitled “Abstracts of Dissertations" annually since 2010. It is a continued, systematic, and sincere effort to collect and collate abstracts of students' dissertations
Library Timing
Time 8.00 AM to 10.00 PM on all working days
Time 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM Sundays, Second & Fourth Saturdays
(Library remains closed only on few public holidays observed by the University).
Note: The loan counter is closed at 8.30 PM.
Programs Organized
