Master of Public Health

Programme Overview

Master of Public Health (MPH) program has been carefully designed to equip students with a broad understanding of critical public health competencies. The curriculum provides rigorous training to develop an understanding of health systems, health programs and policies, enabling graduates to address real-world health and social care challenges with confidence. Through foundational coursework, students will develop competencies in core areas such as Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Demography, Health Systems and Policy, Principles of Management, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Health Economics. After successfully completing the foundational terms, students will have the option to continue along the general MPH pathway or pursue a specialization in Master of Public Health (Implementation Science) [MPH (IS)]. Those who choose the general track will graduate with a comprehensive grounding in essential public health competencies. Alternatively, those opting for the specialized MPH (IS) pathway will delve deeper into real world public health implementation issues. This dual-path structure offers a unique opportunity for students to refine their expertise in alignment with their career goals—whether to transcend as a broadly skilled public health professional or to excel as an implementation science specialist poised to drive practical innovations in public health.

Programme Outcome

Program Duration

The Master of Public Health Programme is a twoyear full-time degree programme. The programme will have some common foundational courses in the initial phase followed by the option to choose either for general track MPH or specialized MPH . The programme 2025-2027 will commence from August 2025 at IIHMR University, Jaipur Campus.

Learning Pedagogy

The pedagogy in each course is selected judiciously, with an emphasis on involving the students in learning and helping them to relate concepts and theory to the real-world situation in public health , management and its implementation. The programme is conducted with intensive teaching and learning methods which includes classroom teaching and capstone project in the first year and practicum during the second year.

Capstone Project

The MPH Capstone project is a graduation requirement for students in the Master of Public Health programme. It of the programme and provides students with an opportunity to work on public health projects that are particularly interesting to them.

Practicum

The practicum assignment is part of the second year of the programme. The students will be working on their practicum assignment under the guidance of the assigned faculty and organizational mentors / advisor. The practicum requirement intends to engage students in research activities aligned with their career goals and activities that demonstrate the application of public health core concepts and critical thinking relevant to the student's chosen area in community / field settings.

Eligibility Criteria
  • A Graduate from any discipline, with 50% or above [45% or above for SC/ST/OBC-NC/ EWS/ PwD] aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
  • Candidates in the final year of the bachelor's degree may also apply if they would furnish evidence of meeting the minimum eligibility criteria by September 2025.
Selection Process
Stage I: Short-listing
  • Candidates should have qualified IIHMRU-MAT or having valid score in CAT/XAT/NMAT/MAT/ CMAT/ATMA /CUET-PG
  • Short-listed candidates will be informed through email/SMS to their registered email address and mobile number.
Stage II: GD-PI Process
  • Short-listed candidates are invited to appear for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) through online/offline mode. GD-PI will be conducted to assess the candidate's learning aptitude, attitude, communication skills, and suitability for the University's MPH programme.
Final Selection

The following criteria will be used for the final selection of candidates:

  • Score obtained in (IIHMRU-MAT/CAT/ XAT/NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ CUET-PG).
  • Graduation Marks (Academic Performance)
  • Group Discussion
  • Personal Interview
How To Apply
  • Interested candidates shall apply through online mode by submitting the online application form at www.applications.iihmr.edu.in. Application fee is Rs. 1,000 which is non-refundable.
  • Registration Fee for IIHMRU-MAT Examination is Rs. 500 only, which is in addition to application fee to apply for MPH programme. Registration fee for IIHMRU-MAT is non-refundable.
  • Candidates will be allowed to take IIHMRU-MAT a maximum of three times, including the first attempt and two retake attempts. The fee of Rs. 500 will be applicable for each retake of IIHMRU-MAT.
  • Rescheduling of IIHMRU-MAT can be done without making payment of any additional fee.
IIHMRU-MAT Registration

IIHMR University, Jaipur conducts IIHMRU-MAT to select the most appropriate students for MPH programmes offered by IIHMR University, Jaipur. IIHMRU-MAT scores are used by IIHMR University, Jaipur for admission to MPH programmes. IIHMRU-MAT Syllabus is divided into five key sections: 1) Language Comprehension; 2) Mathematical skills; 3) Data Analysis; 4) Intelligence; 5) Critical Reasoning and General Awareness with 30 questions in each section.

Important Dates
  • Last date of admission to the MPH program is July 31, 2025 subject to availability.
  • The program will commence in the first week of August 2025.
