Understanding Barriers and Enablers to Timely and Complete Birth Registration in Rajasthan

IIHMR University, in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Statistics, Government of Rajasthan, and UNICEF, organised a Co-Define Workshop for the Qualitative Inquiry on Understanding Barriers and Enablers to Timely and Complete Birth Registration under the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) System in Rajasthan on August 17, 2026.

The workshop provided a structured platform for stakeholder consultation and deliberation on the key barriers affecting the timely and complete registration of births under the CRVS system. Discussions focused on identifying critical gaps, contextual challenges, and enabling factors influencing birth registration practices, while refining key areas of inquiry to guide the qualitative research process.

The workshop contributed to developing a shared understanding of the research priorities and informing the subsequent conduct of the qualitative inquiry.
