Dr. Kumar Parimal Shrestha is a demographer and public health researcher with over eight years of experience in teaching, research, data management and program management across leading academic institutions, development organisations, Central and State Governments. His work spans large-scale national surveys, labour and employment analytics, population health research, and evidence-based policy development.

He holds a Ph.D. in Demography from the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, and has contributed to major national initiatives including NFHS-6, the National Database for Unorganised Workers (NDUW), and programs under the Ministry of Labour & Employment and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. His professional journey includes leadership roles in research at Deloitte, Market Xcel, MAMTA-HIMC, and IIPS, where he also served as a Teaching Assistant supporting postgraduate training. During his tenure with the Ministry of Labour & Employment and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, he conducted capacity-building and training sessions for bureaucrats, government officials, and other stakeholders on AI applications, technology integration within government systems, and the use of statistical modelling for policy and program development.

Dr. Shrestha’s expertise includes statistical modelling, survey research, population health, workforce analytics, program evaluation, and data-driven policymaking. He is proficient in STATA, SPSS, R, Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and modern digital survey platforms. His research has been published in reputed peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented his work at multiple national conferences.

A UGC-NET qualified scholar and recipient of awards such as the Move the Dot Award (Deloitte) and Best Employee Award (MAMTA-HIMC), Dr. Shrestha is committed to advancing public health education, mentoring young researchers, and building strong research-practice linkages in demography and population sciences.
