Dr. Naveen Saran is an Assistant Professor at the School of Digital Health, IIHMR University, Jaipur. He is an academician and researcher specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Digital Health, Health Informatics, Cybersecurity, and Data Science. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Central University of Rajasthan, where his doctoral research focused on developing intelligent Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) for Internet of Things (IoT) environments using advanced Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning techniques.

With over six years of combined academic and industry experience, Dr. Saran has established expertise in intelligent healthcare technologies, AI-driven cybersecurity, and secure digital ecosystems. Prior to joining IIHMR University, he served as an Assistant Professor – Data Science at Chandigarh University, UP, where he taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Internet of Things, Python Programming, Healthcare Analytics, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Automata Theory, and Data Science. He has also contributed to curriculum development, academic coordination, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), faculty development initiatives, and the integration of emerging AI technologies into higher education.

Dr. Saran's research lies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Health, and Cybersecurity, with the objective of developing intelligent, trustworthy, and secure AI systems for next-generation healthcare. His research interests include Digital Health, Health Informatics, Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Digital Twins, Federated Learning, Edge Intelligence, Healthcare Analytics, AI-driven Clinical Decision Support Systems, and cybersecurity for IoT-enabled healthcare environments. His work emphasizes the development of privacy-preserving, interpretable, and scalable AI frameworks capable of supporting resilient healthcare infrastructures and data-driven clinical decision-making.

An active researcher, Dr. Saran has authored research papers, international conference proceedings, and book chapters published in reputed Scopus-, SCI-, and Web of Science-indexed journals. His publications include contributions to Elsevier Procedia Computer Science, Springer Nature conference proceedings, and internationally recognized edited volumes published by Bloomsbury India and CRC Press (Taylor & Francis Group). His research has been presented at international conferences and encompasses intelligent Intrusion Detection frameworks for Internet of Things (IoT), Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), Internet of Vehicles (IoV), and Industrial-Internet of Things (I-IoT) using Machine Learning, Deep Learning, hybrid CNN–LSTM architectures, GRU with Attention mechanisms, ensemble learning, and Generative AI techniques.

His current research is focused on developing Explainable AI-enabled Digital Twins, Federated Learning frameworks, and intelligent cybersecurity solutions for healthcare and Industrial IoT ecosystems. He is particularly interested in integrating trustworthy AI, edge intelligence, and privacy-preserving learning techniques to support secure, resilient, and patient-centric digital healthcare systems.

Beyond research, Dr. Saran actively contributes to academic capacity building through Faculty Development Programmes, expert lectures, and interdisciplinary collaborations in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health. He advocates experiential, research-led learning that equips students with strong analytical, programming, and problem-solving skills while fostering innovation and responsible AI adoption.

His technical expertise includes Python, Java, C++, SQL, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, AWS, Microsoft Azure, and modern AI development frameworks. His work combines advanced data processing, feature engineering, predictive analytics, and intelligent learning architectures to develop scalable and secure AI solutions for healthcare and smart connected environments.

At the School of Digital Health, IIHMR University, Dr. Saran is committed to advancing interdisciplinary education and impactful research by integrating Artificial Intelligence, Health Informatics, Data Science, and cybersecurity to address emerging healthcare challenges.
