Dr. Neyzang Wangmo
Dr. Neyzang Wangmo
Adjunct Professor
Dr. Neyzang Wangmo holds PhD from La Trobe University, Melbourne Australia. She is the 1st nurse-midwife to obtain PhD in Bhutan. She obtained Masters in Public Health from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia and Bachelor in Nursing, from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia. In her vast experience of 37 years, Dr. Wangmo started her career as Nurse-Midwife and later on as Nursing Leader, continuing her career progression as faculty, Deputy Dean, Vice-Chair, Chairperson and as Founding Director with numerous institutions in Bhutan.
She has published numerous research papers and articles in reputable journals and has various other achievements in related studies. She has extended her valuable service towards the scientific community with her extensive research work. Dr. Wangmo has many accolades to her credit like:
- Recipient of Lifetime Service Award, His Majesty the King of Bhutan
- Recipient of Gold and Silver Medal Service Award, Royal Civil Service Commission, Bhutan
- Bhutan Education Leadership Awards 2020
- Certificate of Appreciation, President of Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan for 37 years of dedicated service to the King, People and Country of Bhutan
- Recipient of Vice Chancellor Scholarship to pursue PhD study in La Trobe University
Dr. Wangmo is at present
- Technical Advisor- for the EATWELL Research Project – conducted in collaboration with Norwegian Universities, Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB), Royal Thimphu College and Sherubtse College
- External Committee Member, Research for Higher Degree, Royal University of Bhutan
- Adjunct faculty member, Institute of Wellbeing, Youth Development Fund Program, Bhutan
- Executive committee member, Southeast Asia Public Health Education Institute Network (SEAPHEIN)
