Dr. Piyusha Majumdar
Dr. Piyusha Majumdar
Associate Professor
Piyusha Majumdar is a distinguished public health researcher, educator, and implementation researcher working as an Associate Professor at IIHMR University, Jaipur. With over 18 years of experience spanning academia, global health research, and social science consulting, she bridges the gap between evidence and action. She is the Executive Producer of the ENSURE HEALTH podcast, Co-PI of the STRIPE Project with Johns Hopkins University, and Focal Point for WHO/TDR’s postgraduate training scheme at IIHMR University, providing training in Implementation Research to students from the Eastern Mediterranean and Southeast Asian regions. She is also a global grantee of This Is Public Health (TIPH). As Chair of the Consortium of Cancer in Implementation Science under NIH, her work advances implementation science and health equity in India and beyond.
She is a faculty member listed on the IR Connect Platform, supported by TDR—a platform that promotes active engagement through the sharing of lessons learned and resource materials related to Implementation Research. She served as an Expert Member of the WHO Knowledge Translation Advisory Board, Geneva (2024–25). She is the Social Innovation in Health Initiative (SIHI) Hub Lead at IIHMR University and a WomenLift Health Fellow (2026–2027). She is a recipient of the TIPH (This Is Public Health) Global Grant, administered under the aegis of the Global Network for Academic Public Health (GNAPH), an alliance of seven regional associations representing schools and programs of public health worldwide. She is also an Editorial Board Member for the Academic Journal of Anthropological Studies and a Review Editor for Frontiers in Tropical Diseases and the Asia Pacific Journal of Health Management.
Areas of expertise: Mixed- and multi-methods research design; implementation science and research; qualitative and quantitative research; ethnography; impact evaluation; health systems and services research; curriculum design and MOOC development; and media and health communication research.
