Dr. Vidya Bhushan Tripathi has extensive experience in research, teaching and training in the field of Public Health and Development. With a multidisciplinary academic background, he brings over 16 years of national and international experience in research, policy, capacity building, and project implementation. He holds a PhD in Public Health from the Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) University, Jaipur, with a special emphasis on Digital Mental Health. He also holds an MSc in Information Technology, an MBA in Healthcare Management, and is a certified Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro) practitioner. Dr. Tripathi has undergone advanced training with several premier institutions, including the World Health Organization (WHO), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), University of Manchester, University of Pennsylvania, and Johns Hopkins University. Over the years, Dr. Tripathi has worked on numerous projects funded by leading agencies such as WHO, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, ICMR, NITI Aayog, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has led or contributed to more than 50 research and implementation projects across India, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Notably, he served as a Young Professional at NITI Aayog and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. He served as a member of the MSME Committee, where he contributed to enterprise policy, grassroots innovation, and health entrepreneurship. His key areas of expertise include Digital Mental Health Innovation, AI-based diagnostic tools, mHealth interventions, Health Management Information Systems (HMIS), community-based behavioral research, and Planning, Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PIME). His work particularly focuses on reducing mental health disparities in marginalized populations through technology-enabled solutions. Dr. Tripathi is the lead author of the study “Navigating the Road to Resilience (RR): Understanding the Work Environment's Influence on Mental Health Among Indian Truck Drivers”, published in Springer Nature BMC Public Health (2025). The study explores the prevalence and determinants of depression in truck drivers, providing actionable insights for occupational health policies and workplace reforms. He has published widely in Scopus-indexed journals and has contributed to over 20 national and international training programs. He collaborates with global institutions such as the World Psychiatric Association (WPA), Centre for Autism, Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities (CANDDID), Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, GMHAT Foundation, and the University of Manchester, UK. His core interests include Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Digital Mental Health, Health Informatics, HMIS, Occupational and Environmental Health, Implementation Science, and Public Health Innovation. Through his academic and research leadership, Dr. Tripathi continues to advance evidence-based, digitally enabled, and equity-focused public health solutions.
