Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)

Introduction

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, aimed at promoting meaningful engagement between higher educational institutions and rural communities for inclusive and sustainable development.
At IIHMR University, Jaipur, the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan focuses on applying academic knowledge, research, and field-based learning to address grassroots development challenges, particularly in the areas of health, sanitation, livelihoods, environment, governance, and social well-being. The initiative strengthens the link between academic institutions and society, encouraging students and faculty to contribute actively to nation-building.

Vision

The vision of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan at IIHMR University, Jaipur, is to contribute to transformational change in rural development by harnessing academic knowledge, research, and institutional expertise to help build an inclusive, healthy, and sustainable India.

Mission

The mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan at IIHMR University, Jaipur is to:

  • Enable the University to work collaboratively with rural communities to identify development challenges related to health, sanitation, livelihoods, environment, and social well-being.
  • Evolve context-specific, sustainable, and people-centric solutions through academic engagement and field-based interventions.
  • Create a strong linkage between society and an inclusive academic ecosystem by integrating teaching, research, and extension activities.
  • Enhance the capacity of public and private sector stakeholders to respond effectively to rural development needs.

Goals
