Baseline and End Line Evalution of Project Titled 'Rice Fortification Pilot in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra
Agency : Sir Dorabji Tata Trust
Tata Trusts propose to demonstrate a reduction in anemia and other micronutrient deficiencies in all the blocks of Gadchirolli district through a rigorous impact evaluation of an intervention aimed at providing micronutrient fortified rice through the public distribution system (PDS) of Maharashtra.
The major objectives of the project are
- to understand the effect of fortified rice supplied through Public Distribution System (PDS)
- to assess the change in the hemoglobin level of consumers receiving fortified rice and understand the attributable change due to fortified rice
- to understand the operational feasibility of the program and
- to identify the gaps or barrier in implementing the Rice Fortification Project.
