Q1. What is the curriculum structure for MBA in Pharmaceutical Management?
MBA in Pharmaceutical Management is an integrated programme of Pharmaceutical science and technology with various business strategies and regulatory issues pertaining to pharma industries. As a pharmaceutical management aspirant, you will study a blend of course curriculum of business management topics and pharmaceutical technology issues specific to the pharmaceutical industry. The learning pedagogy is designed to stimulate the young brain through advanced classroom lectures, group work, management games, extensive field visits and case studies which prepare students to become competent pharmaceutical managers.
The course curriculum on business topics includes core management subjects, besides pharmaco-economics, strategic management, data management and analysis. You will learn about these topics in general as well as how they can be applied to the pharmaceutical industry. You will also study pharmaceutical regulatory affairs and supply chain management within the industry. Additional courses like IPR management and capstone project will cover the current trends and opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.
Q2.What is the purpose of summer training and dissertation in Pharmaceutical management course?
Summer training provides an opportunity to have first-hand experience in the pharmaceutical sector as a learner. Well-planned eight-week summer training provides the student a hand-on experience of various components of the pharmaceutical organization. It also helps the organizations to tap the skills and knowledge of the students and engage them in their projects.
As regards dissertation, the students are required to present a report while performing their daily activities in their respective organizations. They are finally assessed on the basis of the quality of their dissertation.
Q3.What extra-curricular activities will be done during the two year full time programme?
During the programme the University organizes learning and networking events with various pharmaceutical professional bodies. Some of the topics covered are human resource management in pharmaceutical industry, healthcare academia–industry interface and opportunities, challenges and innovations to provide current perspective on pharma industry.
The University also organizes an activity called Verve in which the faculty and the students participate in various self-development and learning activities. Some of the examples of such activities are management games, group discussion, analytical enhancing ability tests, advertisement designing, book reviews, and field visits.
The University also has facilities for games & sports, swimming pool and modern gym. Cultural activities and blood donation camps are also encouraged. The University encourages participation of students in various conferences and presenting their papers.
Q4.Are there any prerequisites?
You will need to obtain a bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 year’s duration with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) from a recognized university in Pharmacy, Medicine (MBBS), BDS, Biotechnology, BAMS, BHMS, Science and Management with a valid score of entrance exams like MAT/GPAT/CAT/CMAT/ATMA/GMAT/XAT/IIHMR MAT. Working professionals with relevant work experience are encouraged to apply.
Q5.What is the admission process in pharmaceutical management programme?
The eligible candidates will be invited for group discussion followed by personal interview. The final selection of the candidate is based on his/her performance in the qualifying examination with a proportional score in MAT/GPAT/CMAT/CAT/ATMA/GMAT/XAT/IIHMR MAT, the group discussion and the interview.
For candidates desirous of admission to MBA Pharmaceutical Management and who do not have MAT/GPAT/CMAT/CAT/ATMA/XAT/GMAT/ Scores, for such candidates The IIHMR will conduct IIHMR MAT.
Q6.When does the academic session begins?
The academic session begins in July or as may be notified.
Q7.What's the average time of students study in each week?
The Average study time on campus is about 30 hours a week plus 10 hours of self-study which makes it about 40 hours a week. Students have to study in 4 sessions a day and each session is of 1.5 hours.
Q8. I am currently in my final year of graduation course. Am I eligible to apply for the MBA-PM programme?
You are eligible to apply for the MBA-PM programme and you could be admitted to the course provisionally subject to your successfully completing graduation within specified time decided by the Admission Board.
Q9. How can I apply?
Candidates aspiring for admission to the MBA-PM programme are required to fill in an application form which can be obtained from the University by paying Rs. 1000/- in cash or by sending a demand draft for Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour of “Institute of Health Management Research”, payable at Jaipur. Application forms can also be downloaded from our website: (https://iihmr.edu.in). In the latter case, applications must be sent along with a DD for Rs. 1000/-
Q10. Can I apply online for MBA-PM admission?
Yes, you can apply online through the link (http://iihmr.edu.in). The form cost is Rs. 1000 which could be deposited online through credit cards, debit cards, or through net banking.
Q11. What all documents would be required for applying online?
Please make sure you have the scanned copies of the following documents before filling up the online form: Passport sized photo, Class X certificate, 10+2 certificate showing the subjects passed, final mark sheet/degree for the candidates who have passed the qualifying degree or mark sheet of the pre-final year for those who have appeared at the final year exam for the qualifying degree, Scanned copy of signature, Copy of MAT/CMAT/CAT/ATMA/GMAT/XAT score card, certificate(s) of work experience. None of the files should be larger than 1 MB (1028 kb).
Q12. How could I confirm that my application has been submitted?
Once you submit your complete online application, you will receive an email confirming your submission. We shall update your application status on our online application system once we have received all the application documents from your side.
Q13. How will my application be evaluated?
The application will be evaluated based on your academic qualifications and management entrance exam score. Short-listed candidates will be called to attend the group discussion & interview process which would be intimidated through post/courier and through e-mail.
Q14. How do I add new information if I have already submitted my application?
Once the application has been submitted, the Admissions Team is unable to accept application updates other than contact updates. If invited to attend the interview, applicants may inform the Admissions Team of the updates at that time.
