Incubation

At the heart of IIHMR University's developmental activities is an incubation center that supports any venture as long as it is innovative, has the potential to make a social and/or financial impact, and the team can implement it. CIIE seeks to contribute both to the advancement of knowledge and the practice of entrepreneurship. One of the Objectives of the CIIE is to support entrepreneurial creation and growth aspirations in key sectors, including healthcare, pharma, and development sectors, in collaboration with internal and external partners. CIIE will offer access to a vibrant community of successful entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate managers who visit the center. CIE aims to foster a vibrant ecosystem for the creation and growth of enterprises. The center seeks to contribute both to the advancement of knowledge and the practice of entrepreneurship. One of the objectives of the CIIE is to support entrepreneurial creation and growth aspirations in key sectors, including technology commercialization in collaboration with internal and external partners.

Key Functions

  • To promote entrepreneurship by identifying and supporting innovative ideas
  • To assist the incubatees in creating a sustainable, scalable, and profitable business model
  • To create a strong network of mentors who would provide sector specific knowledge and real-world practical guidance
  • To provide incubation infrastructure – workspace, computing resources, connectivity, common tools, offices, library, and value-added support services
  • To conduct event and inspirational programmes
  • To Provide seed-funding
  • To provide trainings and mentorship to entrepreneurs
  • To forge partnerships and networks with academia, industry, funding sources, existing incubators and others for the start-ups to leverage.
  • To enable access to prototyping facilities, test beds, markets, and pilot implementation for the product/services
  • To build a strong team with adequate knowledge and experience in guiding start-ups, building

At the operational level, CIIE is primary responsible for nurturing new companies, as well as for identifying promising pre-company opportunities. In this process IIT (IIHMR) resources including the extensive and very active alumni network play a major role.

Eligibility

CIIE seeks to support all members of the IIHMR University, Jaipur to translate innovations into products, processes and services that are commercially viable. Admission to CIIE is open to:

  • PG Students and Project staff
  • Alumni
  • Faculty and staff (current and retired) including adjunct faculty
  • The admission to CIIE is open to aspiring start-ups in the different areas
  • External Students PG Level
  • Industrial Collaborators

Types of Incubatee

Incubation programme is focused on technology and knowledge-based ventures. The incubates applying at CIIE are categorized as below:

  • Type -I

    Ventures in this category are typically the project initiated by one or more members of the academic staff, students and/or alumni of IIHMR with a view to trying out a novel technological idea for upgradation to a commercial proposition, scaling up a laboratory proven concept, new product or service idea, and setting up a business enterprise.

  • Type – II

    A typical venture in this category can be a start-up company promoted by a first generation entrepreneur desirous of R&D partnership with the IIHMR with a view to trying out a novel technological idea for upgradation to a commercial proposition, scaling up a laboratory proven concept and setting up a technology business enterprise.

  • Type – III

    Venture in this category typically can be an external project / novice idea for evaluation and taking up for scaling

CIIE Support to Incubatees

  • Branding: incubatees may apply for permission to brand themselves as “IIHMR Incubated Company” or “Incubated by IIHMR”
  • Business support services: in-house consultants offering Accounting, tax, company secretary, legal and IP services (no and/or discounted fees)
  • Permission to use laboratories, workshop facilities and equipment at IIHMR
  • Mentorship: with CIIE
  • Skill development Training workshops: Monthly entrepreneurship meetings Introduction to Angel investors, Venture capitalists and other financial institutions
  • Meetings with visitors of IIHMR University (such as academics, alumni, VCs, industry professionals) Showcasing incubatees through networking events
  • Seed Funding for entrepreneurship: are subject to the availability of funds/grants/ schemes meant for this purpose
