Dashboard of Covid-19 India
Update #2 (Week Starting June 09th, 2025)

According to INSACOG, the current increase in COVID-19 cases in India is being caused by new Omicron subvariants like JN.1, NB.1.8.1, LF.7, BA.2, and XFC. These have been found to exhibit minor symptoms but higher transmissibility. Currently, the WHO has classified these as "Variants Under Monitoring"—not yet concerning, but caution is necessary. In the meantime, the virus that causes COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, has not vanished, but it no longer acts as an unforeseen emergency; instead, it has joined a recurrent cycle of illnesses that is comparable to the flu.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare COVID-19 Dashboard as on June 09th, 2025, total Active cases are 6491. Find below the data of state-wise COVID-19 cases:

Update #1 (Week Starting June 02nd 2025)

According to INSACOG data, one case of NB.1.8.1 was reported in Tamil Nadu in April, while four instances of LF.7 were discovered in Gujarat in May. In India, JN.1 remained the most frequent variety, accounting for 53% of examined samples, followed by BA.2 (26%), and various Omicron sub lineages (20%). Though WHO's early risk assessment classified NB.1.8.1 as a low global public health concern, spike protein mutations such as A435S, V445H, and T478I indicate enhanced transmissibility and immune evasion when compared to other variations. According to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare COVID-19 Dashboard as on June 2nd, 2025, total Active cases are 3961. Find below the data of state wise COVID-19 cases:

About COVID-19

COVID-19 is an illness induced by a novel coronavirus known as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2; previously termed 2019-nCoV). The virus was initially detected during an outbreak of respiratory illnesses in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. In January 2020, the disease spread worldwide, resulting in the COVID-19 Pandemic.
COVID-19 affects people in various ways. Most individuals who become infected will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization. The most common symptoms include fever, cough, fatigue, and loss of taste or smell. Less common symptoms encompass a sore throat, headache, body aches, diarrhoea, skin rash, discoloration of fingers or toes, and red or irritated eyes. Serious symptoms may involve difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, loss of speech or mobility, confusion, or chest pain.
