Entrepreneurship has been the driver of change and progress since always, it has been named and understood differently at different point in times, however the essence remains the same; which is to take risk and conduct an activity to produce or render service which satisfies the needs of fellow human beings. In recent times, the scope of entrepreneurship has been widened and the concept of entrepreneurship has been crystalized over a period of time to be understood as an act of taking risk and starting on a new path, to produce unique goods as well as render services which solves some of the most pressing problems of human kind and in turn generate revenue, create impact and promote inclusion.

Course – Introduction

We all have a mindset, yet often we are not consciously aware of it or the profound effect it has on our lives. Our mindset is the underlying mechanism that can expose opportunities and ignite our ambition, engaging our faculties in ways that enable us to flourish and thrive. Yet, our mindset can also blind us to opportunities and hinder our ability to learn and grow, keeping us tethered to familiar, yet unproductive patterns of thought and action.
An entrepreneurial mindset is a specific set of beliefs, knowledge, and thought processes that drives entrepreneurial behavior. Those with an entrepreneurial mindset tend to have a humanistic outlook, being other-focused and understanding that one creates value by looking to solve problems for others; and.
How we view ourselves and the world around us impacts our ability to dream and achieve. In today’s innovation economy, where needs and opportunities are evolving faster and more fluidly than ever before, our youth need a mindset that equips them to recognize opportunity, take initiative, and innovate in the face of challenges. The idea behind this program is to develop and provide a framework for understanding the entrepreneurial mindset and render tools and techniques to develop this quintessential entrepreneurial mindset.
This course on 'Entrepreneurial Mindset Building for Management Students and Future Founders' is the foundation course for new and aspiring entrepreneurs where they will understand the basics of starting up as an entrepreneur and as an entrepreneurial enterprise. This course delivers the basics of entrepreneurial mindset and how it can help an aspiring entrepreneur in having the right kind of mind frame to start his or her own enterprise, as entrepreneurial mindset is the first step towards this long and fulfilling journey of an individual as an entrepreneur.

Pedagogy

This is an experiential online course that involves an indepth learning with open interaction, hands on exercises, and working on live startup cases. Each component of the course will be taught with the help of case studies, live startup and corporate examples, and general one on one and group discussions. Each participant will have to apply the concept learnt in a live startup, either his/her own startup if he/she is an existing entrepreneur or any other live startup as suggested by the resource person.

Day 1 : Basics of Entrepreneurial Mindset and Disruptive Innovation

Dr. Pallavi Choudhary Agarwalla is an entrepreneurship specialist and an incubation expert, having worked in policy making, policy implementation and policy advocacy roles in innovation and entrepreneurship domain. Presently, she is working as an incubation expert as well as a full time faculty and heads the startup incubation and accelerator initiative at IIHMR university, which is a pioneering academic and research institution in India, focussing on education, research and training in public health systems management and other allied areas.
She has extended her consultancy to number of startup incubation centres and universities across India to help them set up startup incubation centres and run such programs efficiently. She is mentor-on-board with incubators for mentoring startups in ed-tech, fin-tech, craft-tech, agri-tech, civic-tech, health-tech, social impact and fashion & lifestyle domains. She also mentors non incubated startups across sectors. Many of her mentored startups have grown exponentially and have received multiple rounds of funding from renowned investors.
In her prior roles, she has worked with NITI Aayog, Government of India, CIIE.CO IIM-Ahmedabad and has spearheaded the 'Startup Strategy and International Collaboration' vertical at Marwari Catalysts Ventures and Fund.
At NITI Aayog, she has worked for two of its flagship initiatives to promote entrepreneurship in India, namely Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) NITI Aayog.
During her tenure with CIIE.CO IIM-A, one of the leading accelerator in India, she has driven Rajasthan's first women specific incubation and accelerator program 'Project HER&NOW' supported by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India and GIZ, Government of Germany. She has also contributed to the first of its kind craft accelerator program for startups in India, called ‘The Craft Catapult’.
During her tenure with Marwari Catalyst Ventures, as part of the core team she rolled out its first accelerator program into Edtech domain. She closely worked with incubatees to raise funds, actively worked with existing partners and initiated multiple dialogues with ecosystem players and stakeholders in the startup community.
She has been selected as an India Fellow for the coveted India Fellow Social Leadership Program. She has also been selected as a Jagriti Yatri. She comes from a Chartered Accountancy (CA) and Company Secretary (CS) background and is a post-graduate in Commerce- Advance Business Statistics. She is UGC NET qualified and holds a doctorate degree in 'Startup Incubation Strategy and Startup Support'.
She has contributed to various government and non government reports and has presented her views through various platforms and is an avid speaker on topics related to startups and incubation strategy. She has written 20+ research and policy papers on innovation and entrepreneurship led growth in India. Her forte lies in capacity building of startups as well as startup incubators with special focus on undertaking catalytic activities in entrepreneurial ecosystem to promote women and social entrepreneurship.
She prefers being a business catalyst rather than being a number cruncher. She is a social impact enthusiast who believes in empowerment through entrepreneurship and is a strong advocate of gender equality at all levels.

Course Fee

The fee for Indian participants in INR 3000 including GST (18% as applicable) and for international participants is USD 45 including GST (18 % as applicable).

Early Bird Discounts

Applications received on or before August 15th, 2021 will be entitled to an early bird discount of 10%.

Group Discounts

Any organization sponsoring four or more participants to the course will receive a discount of 20% on the total fee payable provided that at least four participants attained the course.

Certification

A certificate of participation on completion of the program will be issued by The IIHMR University, Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur.
