National Service Scheme (NSS)

Introduction

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Government of India central sector scheme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, launched in 1969 to develop student personality through community service. With the motto "Not Me But You," it engages millions of student volunteers in colleges and universities in activities like health camps, environmental conservation, and disaster relief.
At IIHMR University, Jaipur, NSS serves as a platform to engage students and faculty in community-oriented activities, with a special focus on health awareness, sanitation, environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and rural development. NSS activities provide experiential learning opportunities that complement classroom education and strengthen the University’s commitment to societal development.

Vision

The vision of the National Service Scheme at IIHMR University, Jaipur, is to nurture socially responsible citizens who are committed to community welfare, national development, and sustainable social change, guided by the principles of empathy, service, and collective responsibility.

Mission

The mission of NSS at IIHMR University, Jaipur is to:

  • Inculcate a spirit of voluntary service and social commitment among students.
  • Provide opportunities for students to engage with communities and understand real-life social challenges.
  • Promote health, hygiene, environmental protection, and social awareness.
  • Develop leadership qualities, teamwork, and organizational skills through community service.
  • Strengthen the connection between academic learning and practical social engagement.

Goals

The key goals of the National Service Scheme at IIHMR University, Jaipur are:
