World Health Day Poster Competition

A Brighter Tomorrow - Every Mother and Newborn counts

Join the World Health Day 2025 Poster Competition.

To mark World Health Day 2025, SD Gupta School of Public Health is thrilled to announce an exciting online Poster Competition. This year, the WHO theme is "Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures," emphasizing the need for focussing preventable maternal and newborn deaths.
To address this pertinent area, we have kept this year’s poster competition’s theme as ‘A Brighter Tomorrow - Every Mother and Newborn counts’
Globally 800 pregnant women and 6200 newborns die every day due to causes which are largely preventable. Positive pregnancy experience culminating in a safe delivery and a healthy newborn is foundational for holistic development in later life. These healthy newborns would eventually shape the transformation into the bright and productive generation of tomorrow.
The call to action is not just confined to the health service providers, who will ensure safe pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care but also the community which ensures complete social support to pregnant women at household and societal levels.
We encourage you to come forward and unleash your creativity to convey powerful messages on what you feel are the priorities promoting healthy and safe pregnancy, childbirth and newborn period. We are looking at artistic imagery and clear calls-to-action that provoke thought and inspire change.
You may think of service delivery and provider related themes like quality care during Antenatal period, delivery and / or postpartum period, specific aspects like women empowerment , respectful maternal care , breastfeeding , community support and dispelling myths and misconceptions.
These are just some broad suggestive themes. Give wings to your creativity deliver a message. Your voice matters and in doing so you’ll also make a stand that you care enough to act.
Let’s draw the line where preventable deaths end—and hope begins.
