Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sinha
Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sinha
Professor
Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Sinha is a distinguished academic leader, health informatics expert, and institutional strategist with over 23 years of leadership experience in higher education, spanning academic governance, digital transformation, research development, and interdisciplinary program design.
Dr. Sinha holds a Doctorate in Health Informatics and has built a nationally recognized profile in Health Information Management, Digital Health Systems, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and Healthcare Analytics. His academic and leadership journey includes senior roles such as Dean, Director, Head of Department, and Professor across reputed institutions including Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Amity University, SGT University and Chandigarh University.
A key highlight of his career is his national-level appointment in 2025 as an Expert Member of the Health Information Management & Health Informatics Professional Council under the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, where he contributes to shaping policies and standards for allied and digital health education in India.
Dr. Sinha has played a transformative role in institution-building and academic innovation. He has led the implementation of NEP 2020 and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) across large institutional ecosystems, impacting over 10,000+ students and 150+ academic programs. He has also been instrumental in establishing Centers for Digital Health, Online Education, and Applied Statistics, and in launching industry-aligned programs in allied health sciences and health informatics.
An accomplished researcher and global academic, Dr. Sinha has 50+ research publications, has guided numerous postgraduate and undergraduate research projects, and has served as Principal Investigator for a WHO–OECD collaborative project on hospital performance monitoring. His scholarly contributions span areas such as EHR systems, health data governance, AI in healthcare, and public health information systems.
He is an internationally recognized speaker who has delivered keynotes and invited lectures across international and leading Indian institutions, addressing themes such as digital health transformation, data-driven healthcare, and the future of health professions education.
Dr. Sinha’s leadership vision is centered on building interdisciplinary, technology-enabled academic ecosystems that integrate health sciences with AI, data science, and policy frameworks. He is committed to advancing industry-integrated education, research excellence, global collaborations, and regulatory alignment, while contributing to national missions such as Digital India and strengthening healthcare systems through data and innovation.
At the School of Digital Health, he is leading efforts to position the institution as a national hub for digital health education, research, and innovation, aligned with global benchmarks and future workforce needs.
