Q1. Who are eligible for admission to this program?

  • Any recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum three-year duration with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Q2.Is my admission guaranteed if I fulfill the above criteria?

No. The selected number of eligible applicants are called for the group discussion and interview based on their graduation percentage and CAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT-U MAT score. The final selection is done strictly on merit and is based on marks obtained in qualifying examination, aptitude test score, experience, and performance in the GD and Interview.

Q3. What do I need to do to apply for this program?

You may apply online or download the application form from our website: www.iihmr.edu.in. Duly completed application forms may be sent by post along with a demand draft of Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour of “IIHMR University”, payable at Jaipur along with all the documents in support of eligibility.

Q5.Will there be any problem in coping with the studies or getting a job if I am not a science or a medical graduate?

No. The course is management-oriented, not towards medical science. Our alumni from diverse academic backgrounds are doing well in their careers.

You can be recruited at a junior management level in private (corporate and non-corporate) hospitals, government & non-government organizations, pharmaceutical industries and other related organizations.

Q8.Do you have a Placement Cell? What will be the role of Placement Cell in my final job placement?

No organization can guarantee placement but, yes, there is a placement cell with student members and a faculty coordinator. The cell organizes campus interviews, and regularly updates the job opportunities. In the past, almost all students have been placed as a result of campus interviews organized by the cell.

Q10.If I discontinue the course in the middle or do not join the course, will my deposited tuition fees be refunded?

In case, a student/candidate withdraws from the course, the fees will be refunded as per the University norms. If a candidate leaves after the commencement of the course, he/she will not be entitled to fee refund except caution money.

Q11.What about scholarship/loan /financial assistance?

Bank loans are available. Candidates sponsored by their employers are encouraged to apply. Need-cum merit scholarship based on first-year marks.

Q13.Do I have to make a choice for different streams of the course.If yes, then at what stage?

Q14.How are these streams different in structure and which one has more job prospects?

First-year is common in all the streams, which aims at cultivating multidisciplinary skills of management principles, communication, and health systems. Hospital management is about the application of concepts and tools in an institution-based (or hospital-based) health care system, which primarily caters to the curative need of the population. Health management provides you with managerial skills, primarily for a community-based health care system where preventive, promotive, and curative needs of the population are addressed. The industry is looking for trained skilled professionals in health care. The above streams are structured to integrate knowledge and skills based on industry requirements.

Q15.In your advertisement, you have mentioned collaboration with various international organizations (such as Johns Hopkins University, Khesar Gyalpo University Of Medical Sciences, Bhutan etc). What does it imply in terms of my job prospects?

IIHMR University, has technical collaborative links with the Johns Hopkins University and a few other universities. Though these collaborations have an impact on the prestige of our university, but there is no direct implications on the prospects of getting jobs at these organizations.

Q1. What is the curriculum for MBA in Pharmaceutical Management?

MBA in Pharmaceutical Management is an integrated program of Pharmaceutical science and technology with various business strategies and regulatory issues pertaining to pharma industries. As a pharmaceutical management aspirant, you will study a blend of course curriculum of business management topics and pharmaceutical technology issues specific to the pharmaceutical industry. The learning pedagogy is designed to stimulate the young brain through advanced classroom lectures, group work, management games, extensive field visits and case studies which prepare students to become competent pharmaceutical managers.

The course curriculum on business topics includes core management subjects, besides pharmaco-economics, strategic management, data management and analysis. You will learn about these topics in general as well as how they can be applied to the pharmaceutical industry. You will also study pharmaceutical regulatory affairs and supply chain management within the industry. Additional courses like IPR Management and Capstone Project will cover the current trends and opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.

Q2.What is the purpose of summer training and dissertation in Pharmaceutical Management course?

Summer training provides an opportunity to have a first-hand experience in the pharmaceutical sector as a learner. Well-planned eight-weeks summer training provides the student with hands-on experience of various components of the pharmaceutical organization. It also helps the organizations to tap the skills and knowledge of the students and to engage them in their projects.

About dissertation, the students are required to present a report while performing their daily activities in their respective organizations. They are finally assessed based on the quality of their dissertation.

Q3.What extra-curricular activities will be done during the two year full time program?

During the program, the University organizes learning and networking events with various pharmaceutical professional bodies. Some of the topics covered are human resource management in pharmaceutical industry, healthcare academia–industry interface and opportunities, challenges, and innovations to provide current perspective on pharma industry.

The University also has facilities for games & sports, swimming pool and a well equipped gym. Apart from cultural activities, blood donation camps are also encouraged. The University encourages participation of students in various conferences and presenting their papers.

Q4.Are there any prerequisites?

You will need to obtain a bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 year’s duration with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) from a recognized university in Pharmacy, Medicine (MBBS), BDS, Biotechnology, BAMS, BHMS, Science and Management with a valid score of entrance exams like CAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT/GPAT-U MAT. Q7.What is the average time of students study in each week?

The average study time on campus is about 30 hours a week plus 10 hours of self-study which makes it about 40 hours a week. Students must study in 4 sessions a day and each session is of 1.5 hours.

Q8.  I am currently in the final year of my graduation course. Am I eligible to apply for the MBA-PM program?

Yes. You are eligible to apply for the MBA-PM program and you may be admitted to the course provisionally subject to your successful completion of graduation within specified time decided by the Admission Board.

Candidates aspiring for admission to the MBA-PM program are required to fill in an application form which can be obtained from the University by paying Rs. 1000/- in cash or by sending a demand draft for Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour of “IIHMR University”, payable at Jaipur. Q17. What does the desired length of work experience you wish to see in candidates?

MBA-DM program do not require a minimum number of ' work experience prior entering the program, and it is important for you to assess your own readiness when deciding to apply. However, mid-career professional with a graduate degree and two years relevant work experience in the development sector are encouraged to apply.

Q18. Do people with experience get preferred at MBA-DM

Most B-schools take MBA aspirants with work experience, this is because many of them apply to these B-schools. There is no defined 'quota' for experienced personnel, nor they are given any 'preference' at any stage of the process. Students with work experience do have a psychological edge in the

Q25. What are the facilities available at IIHMR?

The facilities at the University are of international standards. The main building has an academic block, a computer center, a library and documentation center, a conference hall, an auditorium, an MDP center, seminar rooms, tutorial rooms, and lecture halls. Other facilities includes Canteen, Hostels, Sports, Big Gymnasium, wi-fi connection, jogging track, tennis and badminton courts, Bank ATM etc.

Q26. What are the Library Facilities at IIHMR?

The University hosts Dr. D.A. Henderson Library and Documentation Centre. It is one of the best professional libraries in India. It has a collection of textbooks, reference books, training materials, case studies, journals, manuals, reports and conference proceedings etc.
