FAQ ( MBA-Hospital and Health Management)

Q1. Who are eligible for admission to this program?

  • Any recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum three-year duration with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  • CAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT/ IIHMRU-MAT score
  • For candidates who do not have CAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT/ scores but wish to apply for MBA in Hospital and Health Management IIHMR University will conduct IIHMRU-MAT at IIHMR University Jaipur.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year examination of the bachelor’s degree program or awaiting results of their final year examination in 2023 may also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be given provisional admission. They will be required to produce evidence of their graduation within two months of the start of the session
  • Working professionals with relevant work experience are encouraged to apply

Q2.Is my admission guaranteed if I fulfill the above criteria?

No. The selected number of eligible applicants are called for the group discussion and interview based on their graduation percentage and CAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT score. The final selection is done strictly on merit and is based on marks obtained in qualifying examination, aptitude test score, experience, and performance in the GD and Personal Interview.

Q3. What do I need to do to apply for this program?

Q4.What kind of preparation do I need to make for the IIHMR-U MAT, personal interview/group discussion?

Preparation of IIHMRU- MAT is required. The question paper will have the following five sections.

For GD/PI no specific preparation is required. Your communication skills and general awareness of your surroundings will be important.

Q5.Will there be any problem in coping with the studies or getting a job if I am not a science or a medical graduate?

No. The course is management-oriented, not towards medical science. Our alumni from diverse academic backgrounds are doing well in their careers.

Q6.What kind of job can I expect after graduating from this program?

You can be recruited at a management level in private (corporate and non-corporate) hospitals, government & non-government organizations, pharmaceutical industries and other related organizations.

Q8.Do you have a Placement Cell? What will be the role of Placement Cell in my final job placement?

No organization can guarantee placement but, yes, there is a placement cell with student members and a faculty coordinator. The cell organizes campus interviews, and regularly updates the job opportunities. In the past, almost all students have been placed as a result of campus interviews organized by the cell.

Q9.How much will the course cost after admission?

Q10.If I discontinue the course in the middle or do not join the course, will my deposited tuition fees be refunded?

In case, a student/candidate withdraws from the course, the fees will be refunded as per the University norms. If a candidate leaves after the commencement of the course, he/she will not be entitled to fee refund except caution money.

Q11.What about scholarship/loan /financial assistance?

Bank loans are available. Candidates sponsored by their employers are encouraged to apply. Need-cum merit scholarship based on first-year marks.

Q12.Is it a degree or diploma?

It is a postgraduate degree (MBA).

Q13.Do I have to make a choice for different streams of the course?If yes, then at what stage?

The Streams available for students are as follows:

  • Hospital Management

  • Health Management

The stream is allotted before the summer training based on merit, aptitude and individual preference in the first year,

Q14.How are these streams different in structure and which one has more job prospects?

First-year is common in all the streams, which aims at cultivating multidisciplinary skills of management principles, communication, and health systems. Hospital management is about the application of concepts and tools in an institution-based (or hospital-based) health care system, which primarily caters to the curative need of the population. Health management provides you with managerial skills, primarily for a community-based health care system where preventive, promotive, and curative needs of the population are addressed. The industry is looking for trained skilled professionals in health care. The above streams are structured to integrate knowledge and skills based on industry requirements.

Q15.In your advertisement, you have mentioned collaboration with various international organizations (such as Johns Hopkins University, Khesar Gyalpo University Of Medical Sciences, Bhutan etc). What does it imply in terms of my job prospects?

IIHMR University, has technical collaborative links with the Johns Hopkins University and a few other universities. Though these collaborations have an impact on the prestige of our university, but there is no direct implications on the prospects of getting jobs at these organizations.
