Dr. Daya Krishan Mangal, Doctorate in Medicine (Preventive and Social Medicine), University of Rajasthan, India, Fellow of Indian Public Health Association (FIPHA), has served as a teacher in medical colleges of Rajasthan in different capacities for 25 years and has worked as a Community Health Consultant, Government of Libya. He has served as Senior Research Scientist, The Futures Group International, USA, Dy. Director IEC Bureau, Directorate of Health Services, Government of Rajasthan, Associate Professor at Health Management wing, Rajasthan Institute of Public Administration, Director, SIHFW, Rajasthan, and Officer on Special Duty with Government of Rajasthan on secondment. After seeking voluntary retirement from the Government of Rajasthan in 2004, Dr. Mangal has worked with UNPFA India Country Office and UNFPA’s State Offices in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra for ten years. During his illustrious career of more than 40 years in public health, Dr. Mangal has made significant contributions at policy and program levels in health system strengthening, health communication, health training, and research. He has extensive experience working in different cultural settings and with multidisciplinary teams. Dr. Mangal has published 55 scientific articles in peer-reviewed National and International journals and contributed to several reports and chapters in books on public health.
Dr. Mangal works as an Adjunct Professor, Public Health at IIHMR University, Jaipur, and as a Senior Associate Department of International Health, Division of Health Systems, Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA. Dr. Mangal is a member of the RP2 panel, HRP, WHO, Geneva. He is also a Member of Governing body of the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi. His interests are strengthening health systems, health systems research, implementation research, quality of care, and Reproductive Health.
