Dr. Sandipta Chakraborty is a Preventive Medicine and Public Health Specialist. Dr. Chakraborty completed his medical graduation from NRS Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata under University of Calcutta. He did his Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Institute of Public Health, Kalyani and MD (Community Medicine) from All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health, Kolkata, under the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. Additionally, he has completed the Health Research Methodology and Publishing Program-Research to Publication, offered by the British Medical Journal (BMJ) in collaboration with University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and Clinical Management of HIV (CMH) under University of Washington.
He bears a mixed bag of experiences in public health program implementation, training, monitoring and evaluation, and public health research. His experiences encompass working in remote primary healthcare settings in hilly and tribal areas, as well as in international border regions of the eastern and northeastern parts of the country. He's worked with both government agencies and international NGOs, including the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Primary Healthcare, State Public Health administration, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), CARE etc. He has completed research studies on HIV, NCD, Nutrition etc. He is interested in the areas of One Health, Health effect of Climate change, implementation research, research methodologies etc.
