Scholarship Policy for students of PhD admitted for the academic session 2026


PhD 
Eligibility criteria for Fellowships
For General Category Students
  • Fellowships will be awaeded to full-time research scholars joining the PhD program who meet the following eligibility criteria:
    • 80% or above aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in a master’s degree.
    • Fellowships will be offered to eligible candidates belonging to the General Category based on the Merit list of General Category students prepared after completion of the IRAT and PI.
For SC/ST/OBC-NC/EWS students
  • Fellowships will be awarded to full-time research scholars joining the PhD program who meet the following eligibility criteria:
    • 60% or above aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in a master’s degree
    • Fellowships will be offered to eligible candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NC/EWS based on the Merit list of SC/ST/OBC-NC/EWS Category students prepared after completion of IRAT and PI.
List of documents to be submitted by candidates regarding the eligibility criteria of the scholarship
  • • Candidates wishing to apply for the Fellowship for a full-time PhD program shall be required to submit the Mark-Sheet of their Master’s degree.
Amount of Fellowships: Rs. 40,000 per month/full-time research scholar for the total duration of the PhD program (three years)
Other Terms and Conditions
  • The University reserves the right to add, withdraw or modify any of the criteria, amount and count for all scholarship details mentioned above at any time. Decision of the University will be final regarding award of scholarships to the deserving candidates. The Academic Department of the University will maintain the records related to the grant of scholarships.
  • Every candidate wishing to apply for the freeships shall be required to submit latest SC/ST/OBC-Non Creamy layer/EWS Certificate from a competent authority. Candidates from the SC/ST/OBC-Non Creamy layer/EWS-Non Creamy layer have to determine their eligibility for gaining scholarship as per the prevalent Rules and Regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
  • The Scholarship may be discontinued at any time for any kind of misconduct by the student, like involving in the act of ragging, misbehavior etc. on the recommendations of the Head of the University.
