Background

Today organizations, government, funding agencies and journals are increasingly requiring researchers/stakeholders to share, archive and plan for the management of their data. As professionals respond to these new requirements, data curation knowledge is necessary for the effective management, long-term preservation and reuse of data. Apart from data management the appropriate analysis of data is also an important requirement from agencies as well as the government institution to take appropriate decision based on the evidence captured after analyzing data.
This programme will provide you with knowledge of data management and data analysis using STATA and best practices throughout the research life cycle from the planning stage all the way to when data will ideally be shared, made available within a trustworthy repository, data analysis using STATA, data visualization. By the end of this Programme, you will have a firm understanding of data management best practices, as well as many data management tools and resources to help you foster data sharing, conduct better service delivery, data analysis and data dissemination.

Another major objective of the programme is to learn how to use STATA, manage data using STATA, process data before analysis, conduct data analysis using STATA (descriptive and analytical).

Who should attend?

This five-day introductory programme is suitable for Public Health Professionals and subject-matter specialists such as Statisticians, Demographers, Economists, Computer Programmers, and IT professionals, who wish to use STATA to manage survey or other quantitative data. Applicants are not expected to have previous working experience of STATA though basic Knowledge of windows operating system would be an added advantage.

Pedagogy

The Programme will be delivered mainly though practical learning environment through innovative and effective teaching for working professionals. This will include classroom lectures, augmented by discussions, simulation, quiz, discussion on published papers, group work, and assignments.

Mr. Ashish Bandhu is an Assistant professor at Institute of Health Management and Research at IIHMR University. He has more than 7 years of experience in Data analysis, management training, research and teaching. He has worked as a Data Manager cum Data Analyst in Family Planning Project named PMA Agile with support from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health, USA. Dr. Anupam Mehrotra is an Assistant Professor at Institute of Health Management Research at IIHMR University. He has more than 10 year's experience in research, teaching, training, programme planning and implementation. His expertise lies in programme planning, implementation, data management and research. Programme Fee

The programme fee for Indian participant is Rs. 41, 250 plus GST (18% as applicable) and for International participant is USD 770 plus GST (18% as applicable). The fee covers tuition fees, background reading material, lodging and boarding.

Discounts

Early Bird Discount: Nominations received with payments on before 4-weeks will be entitled to an early bird discount of 10%.
Group Discount: Any organization sponsoring four or more participants to the programme will be entitled for a discount of 20% on the total fee payable provided that at least four participants attend the programme.
Maximum Discount: Organization can avail themselves of both the discounts subject to maximum discount of 20%.

Venue

The programme will be held at IIHMR University, Jaipur. IIHMR University is located near Jaipur International airport, Sanganer, Jaipur. The University campus provides a learning environment to the participants. The participants are welcome to use the library and recreational facilities at the campus.

Certification

A certificate of participation on completion of the programme will be issued by IIHMR University, Jaipur.
