A Degree in Development Management is an outwardly looking globally relevant programme which envisages an integration of the challenges of Developmental paradigm and an approach to meet them professionally. A graduate from this programme is trained in issues germane to 21st century. Students would be equipped to deal with those with knowledge in analytics, financial and human resource systems, sustainable development approach. It is a programme that seeks total Developmental Transformation for 21st century. These professionals would also play a role in the country’s endeavor to attain Sustainable Development Goals.

Q2. What are the key attributes and course design of MBA-Development Management?

The primary objective is to facilitate integrative learning in the deepest sense of the term, so that graduates can walk into professional roles with ease and play a vital role both at operational and strategic level in their jobs. The specializations (in areas of high demand) aims to improve the marketability and reach of a degree program, in management and development practice to enable the students ability to hit the ground running in the professional world that demands specialized inputs. To achieve this, the course of IIHMR MBA (Development Management) strikes a balance between three things:

  • This programme develops a strong conceptual and an analytical framework on sustainable and inclusive development issues in the students. It also gives appropriate attitudes that are required for a professional development manager
  • Students can work in enterprises, public systems as policy makers, managers, analysts, and consultants advising on operational efficiency and programme efficiency.

Q3. What is the teaching style of faculty at IIHMR University?

The teaching style strives to understand, analyze, and identify realistic solutions and management interventions to meet up the challenges of a rapidly transforming India. The core of academic practice seeks to balance the analytical, professional, and experiential learning with the inspiration to act progressively in different spheres of life, to truly impact life at the grassroot level. One of the core objectives of the pedagogy is to, inculcate values of active and responsible citizenship and human empathy for development communities.

Q4. What's the average amount of time students study each week?

Average study time on campus is, about 30 hours a week plus 10 hours of self-study which makes it about 40 hours a week. Students have about 4 sessions a day and each session are for 1.5 hours.

Q.5 What is the IIHMR University Policy towards Ragging?

The University strictly complies to UGC and AICTE guidelines and the latest Supreme Court rulings and orders relating to anti-ragging. The University observes “Zero tolerance” policy to ragging and expels students found guilty of mistreating fresher’s.

Q8. What all documents would be required for applying online?

Please make sure you have the scanned copies of the following documents before filling up the online form: Passport sized photo, Class X certificate, 10+2 certificate showing the subjects passed, Final mark sheet/degree for the candidates who have passed the qualifying degree or Mark sheet of the pre-final year for those who have appeared at the final year exam for the qualifying degree, Scanned copy of signature, Copy of CAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT Score Card, Certificate(s) of work experience. None of the files should be larger than 1 MB (1028 kb)

Q9. How could I confirm that my application has been submitted?

Once you submit your complete online application, you will receive an email confirming your submission. We shall update your application status on our online application system once we have received all the application documents from your side.

Q10. What are the eligibility criteria for admissions?

Bachelor’s Degree from any AIU recognized University with minimum 50% marks aggregate. Candidates awaiting their final year results may also apply. IIHMR accepts the CAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT/ IIHMR-U MAT tests. Candidates with a relevant experience of two or more years are encouraged to apply. Selection is based on overall academic performance & followed by scheduled Group Discussions & Personal Interviews.

Q11. I am currently in my Final Year of my Graduation. Am I eligible to apply to the MBA-Development Management program?

Yes, you are eligible to apply to the MBA-RM program, but you should successfully graduate before the date of joining.

Q12. How will my application be evaluated?

The application will be evaluated based on your academic qualifications, management entrance exam score. Short-listed candidates will be called to attend the Group Discussion & Interview Process which would be intimidated through post/courier and through e-mail.

Q13. How do I add new information if I have already submitted my application?

Once the application has been submitted, the Admissions Team is unable to accept application updates other than contact updates. If invited for an interview, applicants may inform the Admission Team for updates at that time.

Q14. My undergraduate concentration is in a non-development and agriculture related field. Is MBA-Development Management the right program for me?

The MBA-Development Management Program encourages students from diverse academic backgrounds of science, arts, commerce, agriculture, dairy science, veterinary science, arts, engineering, allied health sciences etc.

Q15. How many seats are available in the MBA-Development Management program?

30 seats are available for MBA-Development Management program at IIHMR U-School of Development Studies.

Application - Work Experience

Q17. What does the desired length of work experience you wish to see in candidates?

MBA-Development Management program do not require a minimum number of work experience prior entering the program, and it is important for you to assess your own readiness when deciding to apply. However, mid-career professional with a graduate degree and two years relevant work experience in the development sector are encouraged to apply.

Q18. Do people with experience get preferred at MBA-Development Management?

Most B-schools take MBA aspirants with work experience, this is because many of them apply to these B-schools. There is no defined 'quota' for experienced personnel, nor they are given any 'preference' at any stage of the process. Students with work experience do have a psychological edge in the

The facilities at the University are of international standards. The main building has an academic block, a computer center, a library and documentation center, a conference hall, an auditorium, an MDP center, seminar rooms, tutorial rooms, and lecture halls. Other facilities includes Canteen, Hostels, Sports, Big Gymnasium, wi-fi connection, jogging track, tennis and badminton courts, Bank ATM etc.

The University hosts Dr. D.A. Henderson Library and Documentation Centre. It is one of the best professional libraries in India. It has a collection of textbooks, reference books, training materials, case studies, journals, manuals, reports and conference proceedings etc.

Q27. Is there a hostel facility at IIHMR University?

Yes IIHMR University, Jaipur has a hostel facility with fully furnished rooms and provided with a telephone and central air-cooling. A well-equipped modern kitchen and a spacious dining hall are attached to the hostels.
