Assessment of the Training Impact related to the Health and Nutrition of Women, Children and Adolescents in Khoyrasole, Birbhum

Reproductive and sexual health is not a new issue in India. As per the data revealed from National Family Health Survey (NFHS), Round 5 (2019-20), sex ratio of the district is 1033 females per 1000 males. The study district is well equipped with an improved source of drinking water, however, the HHs are having limited infrastructure on having toilet. The community was also having less no of health insurance card and educational status is not so good. Given the condition for vulnerability for morbidity and mortality in the district, CINI, a non-governmental organization (NGO) implemented a project named “Suswasthya” with financial support from National Stoc Exchange (NSE) under Corporate sector Responsibility. The project was implemented in Birbhum district of West Bengal covering all blocks. IIHMR University Jaipur was enstursted by CINI to undertake the evaluatin of the project and all together 758 HHs were selected from the systematic random sampling method, out of this, 308 HHs were belongs to adolescents HHs. Besides, key in-depth interviews were also conducted with ANM, AHSA, PRIs followed by Focus group Discussion (FGD) with adolescents. The findings suggested that the programme must build the capacity of the health workers working with the system, improvement in the HMIS, role pf PRIs in decision making, and Continuing the Handholding support to the community.
